Providence’s A.J. Schmidt poured in 29 points and Scottsburg’s Max Clemons added 12 as Team Southern Indiana 2012 edged Shining Star Sports 63-61 in overtime to win the 15 and under title today at Eddie Ford‘s Grassroots Shootout in Louisville, Ky.
“Our guys came together when it mattered most,” coach Burton Chambers said. “We have a solid group of players representing Southern Indiana, and (the championship) was a pleasing start. Don’t be fooled by today’s result, however; we still have much work to do this spring and summer.”
TSI defeated Lexington, Ky.-based Charlotte Court in the semifinal round en route to the championship.
The 2012 roster includes: Max Clemons (Scottsburg), Logan Hamilton (Southwestern), Sean Hoevener (Madison), Markus Jenkins (Southwestern), Seth Pennington (Madison), Hunter Pyke (Henryville), A.J. Schmidt (Providence), Blake Schmidt (Providence) Clayton Sullivan (West Washington), Jacob Wethington (Providence) and Jordan Yarbrough (Madison). Keegan Kincaid, of Switzerland County, is currently out with an arm injury.
