Chris Beam had a memorable basketball experience at Borden, but the 6-foot-1 senior guard isn’t ready to end his playing career.
“It would mean a lot to play at the college level,” Beam said. “It’s too early to quit playing — I’m too young. I’m going to try and play wherever I can.”
Beam is considering two NCAA Division III schools — Spalding in Louisville, Ky., and Mt. St. Joesph, located just outside of Cincinnati, Oh. Olney Central, an Illinois junior college, is also interested, and Beam recently visited the school’s campus.
“Olney hasn’t offered yet; but I think if they were to, that’s where I’d go,” he said. “I’d go there for two years and then try to get to a bigger college.”
Beam plans to major is education.
“I’d like to be a high school teacher and coach,” he added.
