Bedford North Lawrence junior Alex Pritchett secured his first scholarship offer last weekend during a visit to Wright State.
After the entire Bedford team competed in a high school team shootout on the school’s campus, the Raiders tendered a scholarship offer to the 6-foot-6 forward.
“They’ve been showing a lot of interest in me and sending me a lot of stuff,” Prichett said. “To get the offer was a little surprising. It’s a nice place, but I’m going to let things pan out from here. I wouldn’t mind playing (at Wright State).
Other colleges showing early interest in Pritchett include Ball State, Evansville, Indiana State, Purdue, Southern Illinois and Valparaiso.
But he isn’t ready to end the recruiting process yet.
“I’m comfortable knowing that I have time to work a lot on my game,” he said. “I really don’t know at this point. I’ll play through July but I’m still thinking (about the recruiting process).”
With his Indiana Elite ONE Orange squad, Prichett will attend the adidas It Takes Five in Cincinnati, the Kentucky HoopFest in Louisville and the adidas Super 64 in Las Vegas. He also will attend a Purdue “elite” camp in August.
