Week five scores and highlights from the HoosierHillsHoops.com Sunday Fall League Boys’ Middle School Division at Nolan Fieldhouse:
Quarterfinals
Heat 43, Mavericks 36: South Central’s Zach Goodwin totaled 19 points as the Heat got past the Mavericks. Silver Creek’s Gabe Bauer and Borden’s Kyle Kruer paced the Mavericks in defeat with 17 and 11, respectively.
Magic 41, Pacers 38: Nick Tinsley and Caleb Costin scored 15 and 10 points, and the Magic edged the Pacers. Austin’s Markus Fleenor (10) and Corydon’s Mitchell Frederick (nine) led the Pacers in defeat.
Semifinals
Nuggets 68, Magic 32: Crawford County’s Ethan McMonigle scored 19 points and Scribner’s Christian Reed added 14, pacing the Nuggets over the Magic. Tinsley and Parkview’s Damonte Moss paced the Magic in defeat with 12 and 11, respectively.
Heat 40, Lakers 31: Goodwin finished with 14 and Silver Creek’s Nick Kirchgessner contributed 11 as the Heat upended the Lakers. The Lakers were led by Madison’s Nick Macon (18).
Championship
Nuggets 47, Heat 42: Scribner’s Isaiah Hickman and Silver Creek’s Austin Groher each scored 11, and the Nuggets finished off the Heat to win the boys’ middle school division of the first annual HoosierHillsHoops.com Sunday Fall League.
Goodwin paced the Heat in defeat with 15; Nicholas Kratholm, of East Oldham (Ky.), contributed 13.
