Taylor Wilson totaled a game-night 23 points and Paige Frisch and Hanna Smith each added 12 as Norwell, ranked No. 2 in Class 3-A, defeated Notre Dame Academy (Ky.) 65-46 in a first-round battle at the Subway/Columbus North Invitational.
Wilson netted three 3-pointers and Smith hit four for the Knights, which remain undefeated at 7-0.
Notre Dame Academy, located in Park Hills, Ky., was led by Carlee Clemons‘ 14 points, and Olivia Voskuhl, a Cleveland State commit, contributed 13.
Norwell and Fort Wayne South will do battle Saturday morning at 11:45 in a Winner’s Bracket semifinal; Notre Dame (5-3) falls into the fifth-place bracket and will meet Mishawaka at 10 a.m.
