The Bull Dog’s trio of Ali Patberg, Kelsey Cunningham and Tayler Goodall each reached double figures as Columbus North overtook Fort Wayne South in the second half and captured the inaugural Subway/Columbus North Invitational championship 57-35.
Patberg led Columbus North with 19 points, Cunningham added 15 and Goodall 11.
“We wanted to win because it’s our home court,” Patberg said. “We wanted to show everyone how hard we’ve been working and that we play as a team. Hopefully we’ll play this way the rest of the season.”
Fort Wayne South, which was outscored 35-13 in the second half, got 11 points from Brittni Clopton.
In the third-place game, a Roncalli’s balanced attack methodically defeated Norwell 63-45.
Kellie Kirkhoff finished with 18 points, Elizabeth Bowers contributed 15 and Lindsey Corsaro 12 as Roncalli outscored Norwell 35-22 in the second half.
Norwell was paced by Taylor Wilson‘s 18 points, and Kelsey Beer chipped in 10.
