RENO, Nev. — Jeffersonville graduate Tre Coleman went scoreless in 21 minutes in Tuesday’s season opener, but his Nevada Wolfpack had little trouble defeating Eastern Washington, 91-76 at the Lawlor Events Center.
Coleman missed all five of his attempts, including a pair of 3-point tries, but did have three rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot in the victory. The sophomore averaged 5.5 points last season.
The other four Wolfpack starters — Desmond Cambridge Jr., Grant Sherfield, Warren Washington and Will Baker — each scored in double figures. Cambridge, a transfer from Brown, led the way with 22 points and made 4 of his 9 3-point attempts.
Nevada, which shot 50.7 percent from the floor in the win, will try to go 2 for 2 on the season when they host San Diego. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. locally.
Linton Acliese III had 19 points and 14 rebounds for Eastern Washington.
