East, a former New Albany star, went 7-for-9 from the floor and had four assists and three rebounds in 25 minutes for the Tigers, who scored their third straight win to start the season.
Barnes, who played at Floyd Central, was 5-for-13 from the floor and finished with five rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots and a steal.
All five Tiger starters scored in double figures. Along with East and Barnes, Tujauntae Williams had 19, Cam Alford contributed 18 and Sarion McGee had 12.
The Tigers led 38-28 at halftime and pushed the lead to 56-34 after back-to-back Barnes buckets early in the second half. Two East free throws gave the Tigers a 64-46 lead 8:30 to go. Barnes’ free throw with 7:50 left gave the Tigers their biggest lead of the night at 65-46.
John A. Logan, which faces East Mississippi at 4 p.m. in today’s McDonald’s Classic final round, made 27 of its 29 free throws in the win.
