By GREG MENGELT

BOSTONRomeo Langford scored two points and his Boston Celtics won its third straight with 122-113 overtime win over defending World Champion Milwaukee on Friday evening at the T.D. Center.

Langford, a former New Albany and Indiana University star, went 1-for-4 from the floor in his 19 minutes off the Boston bench. Langford’s lone basket came on a dunk on an assist from Robert Williams that put the Celtics ahead 80-74 with 2:51 left in the third period.

Dennis Schroder had a big night for the Celtics, who are now 6-6 overall. Schroder finished with 38 points on 16-of-27 shooting. With the Celtics leading by a point in overtime, Schroder scored six straight points — on a jumper, a finger roll and two free throws — to give his team the cushion it needed for the victory.

“He got hot and we rode his hand,” Celtics coach Ime Udoka said of Schroder.

The Celtics out-rebounded Milwaukee 53-39 and blocked nine shots. Jayson Tatum added 27 for Boston. Marcus Smart contributed 19 points, six rebounds, six assist and three steals to the win.

Bobby Portis led the Bucks with 22 points. Milwaukee was without former Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpo, who’s dealing with an ankle injury.

Langford and the Celtics are back in action Saturday night when they visit Cleveland. The game can be seen locally on Bally Sports Ohio and nationally on NBA TV at 8 p.m.
