Grenadiers suffer loss in Campbellsville Classic

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Lindsey Wilson shot 56.3 percent from the field and made 13 of its 23 3-point attempts in a 96-73 blowout win over IU Southeast on Friday at the Campbellsville Thanksgiving Classic.

IU Southeast (2-8) got 23 points, 5 assists and a pair of steals from junior Anthony Wales Jr. in the loss. Freshman guard Cody Doig (11), sophomore guard Jathan Ritter (9) and freshman guard Jared Starks (8) combined for 28 points off the Grenadier bench. Starks is a Clarksville graduate. Charlestown graduate Caleb Brown scored 2 points for IU Southeast.

Lindsey Wilson (6-3) placed six players in double-figures. Payton Cundiff led the way with 16 points off the Patriots bench. The bench was responsible for 55 of the Patriots’ 96 points.

The Grenadiers face the host Tigers (6-3) at 4 p.m. Saturday in the final round of the tournament. Campbellsville defeated IU Southeast 94-86 at the University of the Cumberlands on Nov. 12. That game can be seen at IUSathletics.com.
