Henryville trailed Salem most of the night Saturday, but Layton Walton, Sam Guernsey and Braydon Dobbs weren’t going to let the Hornets fall to 0-3.
Walton finished with a gam-high 18 points, Guernsey scored 10 and Dobbs saved the best of his eight points for last.
Dobbs rebounded a Walton miss at the buzzer to give the Hornets a 52-51 win over the host Lions for the Hoosier Hills Hoops Win of the Week.
“We were playing from behind almost all night and even up to the last second, but Braydon ‘Big Boy’ Dobbs sealed the deal with one of the most impressive putbacks I’ve ever seen at the buzzer,” Hornets head coach Jared Hill told the News and Tribune..
Henryville (1-2) hosts Charlestown (0-3) on Tuesday evening.
