Langford finished with 11 points — one shy of his season high — and grabbed 9 rebounds, which is a season best. The former New Albany and Indiana University star also had a pair of steals and a blocked shot as Boston gets back to .500 at 16-16 with the win.
Langford was 5 for 8 from the field and was 1 for 3 from behind the 3-point arc. The Celtics outscored the Cavaliers by 18 points with Langford on the floor.
Boston led 31-26 at the end of the first quarter and Langford’s 3-pointer on an assist from Jayson Tatum gave the Celtics a 63-46 lead with 1:05 to go before halftime.
Langford’s floater with 5:20 left in the third gave put Boston on top 74-56. His dunk 28 seconds later gave the Celtics a 20-point lead. He scored on a layup with 9:58 left in the contest and that gave Boston a 91-75 lead. His final basket, also a layup, made it 100-83 with 6:40 left.
Jaylen Brown led Boston with 34 points on 12 of 22 shooting. Brown made 5 of his 10 3-point attempts. Robert Williams had 21 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots and Tatum finished the contest with 18 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and a pair of steals.
The Cavs (19-13) got 28 points from Darius Garland. Kevin Love added 18 and Cedi Osman 13 off the Cleveland bench.
Langford and the Celtics visit Milwaukee to face the World Champion Bucks (19-13) on Christmas Day. The game is at 2:30 p.m. and can be seen on ABC.
