Heidbreder, a freshman and former Floyd Central star, went 2 for 8 from the field and 2 for 2 at the foul line as the Falcons improve to 9-7 overall and 2-3 in the Mountain West Conference. He also had four rebounds and two assists.
Air Force freshman guard Ethan Taylor had a big game with 16 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and two steals to lead the way for the Falcons, who led 33-26 in the victory. Senior guard A.J. Walker added 14 points and freshman guard Jeffrey Mills scored 13 off the Air Force bench.
UNLV (10-8, 2-3) was led by senior guard Bryce Hamilton’s game-high 32 points.
Heidbreder and the Falcons host No. 23 Colorado State (14-1, 3-1) on Saturday. That game will be carried on FS1 at 2 p.m.
