Heidbreder, a former Floyd Central star, went 5 for 9 from the field, 3 for 7 from behind the 3-point arc and made three of his four free three attempts in the loss. He also had four rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Falcons, who have lost four of their last five games.
Heidbreder, a freshman, is now the Falcons’ third-leading scorer at 8.7 points per game.
Leading scorer A.J. Walker, a senior guard, added 13 points for Air Force.
Colorado State, which has won five in a row since its only loss the season, got 18 points from junior guard Isaiah Stevens and 15 off the bench from junior guard John Tonje. The Rams are now 15-1 overall and 5-1 in the Mountain West and could move into the top 20 this week.
Air Force travels to San Jose State on Tuesday at 10 p.m. The Spartans are 7-10 and winless in the Mountain West.
