IU Southeast (10-14, 7-5 River States College) shot 50 percent from the field (39 of 78) and made 14 of its 34 3-point attempts. Sophomore guard Jathan Ritter (Bedford/BNL) led IUS with 23 points off the bench. He was one of five Grenadiers in double figures. Senior guard Jared Osborne (Mt. Washington, Ky./Bullitt East) finished with 15 points, sophomore guard Ahmad Price (Louisville/Valley) and junior guard Glenn Hill Jr. (Louisville/Southern) scored 14 apiece and freshman forward Gabriel Casillas Cruz (Puerto Rico) had 10 in the win.
Carlow (4-18, 1-10), which has lost three games in a row, got 55 combined points from Marcus Millien and Darien Matthew. Millien, a senior guard finished with 30 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals, while Matthew, a sophomore guard, added 25.
IU Southeast goes to Lexington on Tuesday to face Alice Lloyd (19-1, 10-0) in its first game of February. The Eagles won their first 19 games of the season before last Thursday’s double-overtime loss to Asbury. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
