Hibbard went 10 for 19 from the field and finished with 22 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two steals as the Panther won at Mount St. Joseph 79-70 to close out the regular season.
Hibbard got plenty of help. Junior Ty Houston (Union, Ky./Cooper), the reigning Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, led Hanover with 25 points and also had seven boards. Sophomore guard Max Greenamoyer (Zionsville/University) went 6 for 10 and finished with 15 points. Former Christian Academy standout Noah Williams had five points and four rebounds as Hanover won for the fifth time in its last six games.
Senior forward Devin Young, who leads Mount St. Joseph in every offensive category this season, led his team with 23 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two steals and a blocked shot. The Lions (10-14, 6-11 HCAC) have lost five of their last seven.
HCAC champion Hanover (19-4, 14-3) will meet again Sunday at 1 p.m. in the opening round of the HCAC Tournament. The Panthers have beaten the Lions four straight times, including an earlier 77-72 victory in Hanover.
