Bellarmine senior Jeremy Kendle, a Class of 2006 Jeffersonville graduate, was named Great Lakes Valley Conference men’s player of the week on Monday.
Kendle totaled a team-high 21 points in Bellarmine’s 103-79 win Friday at West Virginia State, knocking down 5-of-8 three-point attempts. On Saturday, he racked up a game-high 26 points to lead Bellarmine over Charleston at home, 79-59.
On the week, Kendle averaged 23.5 points per game while shooting 56.2 percent from the field and 60.0 percent from the three-point line. He also tallied 4.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game in the two victories.
Kendle is averaging 24.0 points, 4.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game this season. He leads the GLVC in scoring and three-point field goal percentage (55.0) and is ranked second in three-point field goals made per game (3.67), seventh in the league in assists per game and sixth in the GLVC in free throw percentage (90.0).
Bellarmine (3-0) is one of four GLVC East Division teams with an unblemished record. The Knights will face two divisional foes this week with road games at No. 16 Kentucky Wesleyan and Southern Indiana.
Kendle led Jeffersonville during his senior campaign to a 23-2 record and a Hoosier Hills Conference title.
