Hatton scores 7 but Tribe fall to American

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Freshman Langdon Hatton scored seven points, but his William & Mary Tribe fell to 0-2 with a 74-62 home loss to American on Friday at Kaplan Arena in Williamsburg, Va.

The 6-foot-10 Hatton scored seven points and pulled down six rebounds, connecting on 3-of-4 shot attempts in 20 minutes off the Willam & Mary bench. Hatton had a blocked shot in the loss but was 1-for-6 from the foul line.

Three William & Mary players scored in double figures, led by sophomore big man Ben Wight, who had 14. Sophomore Connor Kochera added 13 and senior Quinn Blair scored 11 off the Tribe bench. William & Mary (0-2) got 24 points off of its bench to 14 for the Eagles.

American senior Stacy Beckton Jr. led all scorers with 24 points. He also added nine boards for the 2-0 Eagles.
