Last 20 years: Scottsburg 13-10. Brownstown has won the last three matchups with the Warriorettes.
Most recent meeting: At Brownstown 44, Scottsburg 41.
News and notes: Three Warriorettes scored in double figures in Tuesday’s rivalry win over Austin. Sophomore Taneisha Griffin and freshman Ellie Richardson had 13 apiece and senior Allison McGlothlin finished with 11. .… Scottsburg has 4 wins by the end of the first month of the season after winning just 8 games a year ago. … Brownstown started its season with a 50-43 loss to Corydon in a Mid-Southern Conference contest. The Braves haven’t played a MSC game since, but 5 of their next six games are against league foes. … Seven of the MSC’s nine teams rank in the top 32 of the Class 3A computer-based Sagarain Ratings.
Outlook: This one could go either way. The Braves are better than their record. Their losses have been against 7-1 Corydon, third-ranked Trinity Lutheran and 4A teams Columbus East and New Albany. We’ll take Scottsburg at home in a nail-biter.
JohnHarrell.net prediction: Scottsburg 53, Brownstown Central 45.
Sagarin projection: Scottsburg by 7.
Greg’s pick: Scottsburg 49, Brownstown Central 48.
