BOYS’ PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: Rayzer-Moore scores 33 in Jeff comeback win

With his team’s top player missing and down 24-16 at the half in their season opener Friday, Jeffersonville senior Brandon Rayzer-Moore took over.

Rayzer-Moore scored 15 of his game-high 33 points in the third quarter as the Red Devils outscored Evanvsille Harrison 23-8 to take control of the 61-47 victory.

Rayzer-Moore also had 9 rebounds in the victory to help him earn the Hoosier Hills Hoops Performance of the Week honor.

OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES
Hayden Cutter, Scottsburg: The Scottsburg senior finished with 16 points as the Warriors knocked off Eastern 62-43 in a Mid-Southern Conference game last Tuesday. Cutter averaged 14 points per game as the Warriors went 2-0 last week.
Marial Diper, Rock Creek: Rock Creek’s junior center nearly had a triple-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 7 blocked shots in the Lions’ 57-38 win over Henryville last Tuesday.
Brady Dunn, Christian Academy: Dunn scored a game-high 30 points as the Warriors won their first game of the season, 95-67 at Portland Christian (Ky.) on Monday.
Tyler Fessel, Corydon Central: In his season debut, Fessel scored 23 points — on 9 of 15 shooting and 4 of 5 from 3-point range — in the Panthers’ 76-57 win over Madison on Saturday.
Jake Helton, Charlestown: After going scoreless in the first quarter Saturday afternoon against Holy Cross, Helton finished with a game-high 26 points in the Pirates’ 72-59 loss in the BodyArmor Showcase. Helton scored 18 points after halftime.
Mason Jones, Borden: Jones had a game-high 13 points as the Braves fell to Providence 47-45 on Saturday evening.
Logan McIntire, North Harrison: McIntire scored 24 points in just three quarters as the Cougars won the Big Cat Classic 65-41 over rival Corydon Central. McIntire was 8 for 12 from the field, including 4 of 7 from behind the 3-point arc, with 6 rebounds in the victory.
Brandon Northern, Silver Creek: The Dragon senior followed his 30-point performance in the season opener with 30 points in Tuesday’s 73-40 victory over Charlestown. Northern knocked down four 3-pointers and scored 13 points in the third quarter of the win.
Joshua Renfro, Christian Academy: Renfro finished with 24 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals in the Warriors’ win over Portland Christian last Monday.
Jayden Thompson, New Albany: Thompson had a season-high 19 points in Friday’s 61-59 come-from-behind win over Evansville Harrison. Thompson sealed the win with a steal with 6 seconds left.
Layton Walton, Henryville: Walton put up a team-best 18 points in the Hornets’ 52-51 win over Salem on Saturday.
Caleb Washington Floyd Central: Washington was one of four Highlanders with at least 8 points. His 20 led the way in Floyd’s 64-60 overtime win over Evansville Harrison on Saturday.
