WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Freshman Langdon Hatton went scoreless in 20 minutes Tuesday and his William & Mary Tribe took a 74-59 home loss to in-state rival Old Dominion 74-59 at Kaplan Arena.
Hatton, a former star for North Harrison, went 0 for 2 from the field. He did have 2 rebounds and 3 blocked shots in the defeat.
Old Dominion (5-5) led 32-29 at the half before outscoring William & Mary 45-27 after halftime.
Three Tribe players scored in double figures, led by freshman guard Tyler Rice, who finished with 15 points. Sophomore forward Ben Wight had 14 and sophomore guard Connor Kochera had 13 in the loss. William & Mary shot just 38.6 percent from the floor (22 for 57) and turned the ball over 16 times in the defeat.
Old Dominion junior forward Kalu Ezikpe led all scorers with 18 points. He also had 8 rebounds and 3 assists for the Monarchs, who have won three of their last four after a 2-4 start to the season.
Hatton and the Tribe, who are now 1-9 on the year, host Hampton (3-6) on Thursday. The Pirates, also an in-state rival to William & Mary, snapped a 6-game losing streak with a 58-57 upset of Norfolk State (9-2) on Saturday.
